How To Do Heart Transplant

Kia Ora everybody last week I made a video on how to do a heart transplant.

We are doing this activity based on the book Pig Heart Boy.

The main character named Cameron is going to get a heart transplant.

We are going learning the steps to know what is going to happen to him.

It took me about 3 days with the planing and changing it to a video.

Scottish Tartan

 

Kia Ora Everybody,

This week we started making Scottish tartan for the school art exabition.

It took about 3 or 4 days to make.

I used 4 colours to make the tartan.

we used thick and thin strips of coloured paper and weaved them up and down.

A Bit Of Doodling

 
Kia ora everybody,

So I have been sick for a while and I decided to do a bit of doodling .

Today I made this dress based on the 60's but with a twist because they all have bright colours so I made mine with darker colours.

I used the app  called sketch pad and I also used my Acer Spin laptop pen.

It took about 1 1/2  hours (because I was just playing around) .

Our Understanding Of Synonyms

 Kia ora everybody,

Today I was working on what synonyms are and our understanding of them.

Synonyms are words that mean the same but is more interesting.

At the top we have the base words but underneath we have the synonyms.

It took about 30 minutes.

Fitness Time In Room 21

 

Kia Ora everybody,

On monday we went outside and did some fitness games.

We played 2 fitness games 1 was when we had to roll a ball in a hula hoop.

That game was about acuracy presicion and patience.

The second game was when we had to take turns to try and put all the balls on the cone the fastest.

This game is about speed and team work.

We did this game for about a hour.

We did the games because we wanted to get our hear rate up and to relieve a bit of energy.

Our teacher Ms McCoombie thaught it would be a good idea to do somthing different by having a run around. We did the games with our classroom.

These past few weeks I have been reading the book pig heart boy and here is the reading activity we did.

It is the problems he might face because of having a pig heart.

It took me about 30 - 45 minutes to make.

Our reliever teacher Mrs North has her own activities that we do on Tuesday.

My Best Prototec

I have been working on upgrading my maths skills.

I got 92% on my timed prototec it normally takes 5 seconds per question .

Spicy Pumpkin Soup Recipe

Hi Everybody,

Yesterday our classroom made pumkin soup.

We use potatoe peelers to peel the pumkin so that we get more pumkin.

For the left over pumkin we gave to our teacher aid called angela she has some

pigs at home to give the scraps to so then it doesn't get wasted but if she didn't take it we would of put it in the school compost pile for the worms to break down.

This recipe makes enough for a classroom so you can half it. ( 20 Serves )

• 2 Pumpkins
• 4 Potatoes
• 2 Onions
• 1 Cup Red Lentils
• 4 Vege Stock Cubes
• A bunch of parsley ( Optional )
• 1 Litre Water
• 2 TSB Cumin Powder
• 2 TSB Curry Powder

Gardening Day

Hi everybody,

This week Monday we had a kind lady come in from orchards for schools.

We wanted to plant some fruit trees for the school so if some childeren did not have any food 

we can just go to the school garden to pick some fruit.

We planted Apple, Pear, Plum and Feijoa Trees.

The trees were bare rooted so that they cost half the price. Bare rooted plants mean that there is no dirt on the roots.

The reason tht trees and plants are so expensive at the hardware store is because they put them in a nice little pot and then doubles the price.

In the school grden we have  lots of flowers so it will atract bees and pollinate our sapplings.

Once the trees were planted they were very wobbly so what we did is secure the middle of them with some gardening rope. The rope is made not to rot if it gets wet.

We also learned how to use a shovel without hurting yourself or your back aching after,

What you had to do was spread your feet apart about shoulder width apart then put one hand at the top of you shovel and then put your second hand half way down the shovel and use your body

 weight to push down.
