Google Drawing Tracing

 Kia Ora Everybody,

Today we had a chance to learn how to digitally trace a picture, I am lucky enough to have done tracing before. I think that choosing a sillhouette or a simple picture makes it easier. I chose a zebra because it is simple colours and the lines are thick enought to trace around. You can use the polyline tool and the curve tool. I used polyline because I normally use curve and want to go out of my comfort zone. I hope you like my art. Please leave a positve, thoughtful and helpful comment. Kind Regards Leandri.

Daily Prototec

 Kia Ora Everybody,

As you know I have made myself a goal to do a prototec everyday for the rest of lockdown. I have made some improvement yesterday but today I found myself a little distracted. The reason I post it on my blog is because it is another way to track progress. I got 7% less this time but that is ok. If I stay focused I will eventually improve.

Stay safe and stay kind.

Kind Regards Leandri

Baking Afghan Biscuits

 Kia Ora Everybody,

Thank for commenting on my blog the last few days. Today I decided that I am going to bake something chocolatey. I struggled to make these because the recipe was too dray and was not forming a dough. I improvised and added some more butter. I would recommend this recipe for anybody who wanted a little bit more of a challenge than chocolate chip cookies. I find that baking is a Good outlet to relieve stress or any other emotions you can't expel. I hope you enjoy this recipe and try it at home.                                    (I think that it's tricky recipe) Kind Regards Leandri.

Baking Cookies

 Kia Ora Everybody,

Today I baked some chocolate chip cookies. They were originally dairy free. but I decided to use normal milk and normal chocolate chip cookies. I changed the recipe by only add 1/2 a cup of chocolate chips because it was to much for the dough to hold. I enjoy changing things when I'm baking so it is customized to the way I like it. Hope you enjoy the recipe. Kind Regards Leandri

1/2 cup oil

1 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup milk (can be almond)

1 TBSP vanilla extract

2 cups plain flour

1 TSP baking soda

1 TSP baking powder

1/2 TSP salt

1/2 cup of chocolate chips

I got a score of 69. Can you do better? I enjoyed this activity because I like games like crosswords and word searches so this activity was right up my alley. WLJ Activity 18

 Kia Ora everybody,

Today I decided to do this activity.

The reason I chose to do South Africa's flag is because I am from SA so it has a sentimental value to me. I made this by using the tracing app on google draw. It was helpful that it has very straight lines so it was easier to sketch. It took me about half an hour so I enjoyed it and I didn't get bored with is. I hope you like my flag. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Nala and Me

Kia Ora Everybody,

This week we have had an opportunity to deepen our learning intention by learning how to get our reader to feel emotion. And we have also been working on our descriptive language and short but effective sentences. But the main emotion I want you to feel is Empathy and Sadness. Please let me know what you think, what emotions do you feel. Is there anything I could add?

Kind Regards Leandri

Never ending tears run down my face while my soul shrinks and turns to dust, leaving me hollow inside. Carrying my dear child to her death.Thinking about every time I threw her outside for being a bad dog, will never be able to measure up to the pain chipping away at my heart that is going to leave an eternal hole that no being would be able to fill. I slowly stumble into the ever growing corridor to the vets office. I Imagine how horrible I was to my baby girl. And making me feel that all the pain she is going through is my fault. As the nurse sticks a needle in my sweet baby I imagine the first time I met her and  suddenly wish I didn’t love her as much as I did to make this moment easier. But we are soulmates.

NZSL Visual

 Kia Ora Everybody,

As you all should know this week is NZSL (New Zealand Sign Language Week). So for our activity we had to make a visual after reading from the NZSL site. We had to extract information and put it in a visual. I would like it if you tell me if you learnt something new.

Kind regards Leandri

Learning to Sign My Full Name

 Kia Ora Everybody,

Today I learned how to sign my fulll name. I knew how to sign my first name so that made it a little bit easier. I used the NZSL site to watch a video to learn how to sign my last name. I will link in the site so that you would can try learn you full name. Do you know your full name in NZSL?

Kind Regards Leandri

Learning to Sign the Alphabet

Kia Ora everybody,

This week is NZ Sign Language Week. But I will be calling it NZSL. For the first activity this week we  had to learn and film ourselfs Signing the alphabet. At the start I knew everything before "S". But luckily there is a site that has a video so that you can learn the New Zealand sign lanuage alphabet. I also just want to remind you that I will be saying sign lanuage but I am talking about the New Zealand version. I really hope that I taught you something. I will link the video so you can see if I made any mistakes. And also sorry because some of them are backwards because of the camera flipping it.

Kind Regards Leandri

My Writing Activity

Kia Ora every body,

Today for writing we had to write about a parachute story. Please let me know what could happen next.

I take a big stride onto the big metal tincan of a plane while thinking of billions of other things to try and keep my mind off of plunging from the sky. As they strap on my parachute my brain feels like an ant with the thoughts of an elephant inside. The plane doors swish open like a tornado ripping out a tree. The instructor straps me to his chest and leaps into the sky. I can feel us jumping into a raincloud because it feels like millions of marbles being poured on my head. The peoples heads slowly turned from grains of sand to ping pong balls. The tree tops tun into green soccer balls and then the instructor said its time to use the parachute but my biggest fear came true, the parachute was stuck...  * 2 Days Later * I just woke up from an induced coma and woke up with a fractured skull and both my legs broken. But the doctors think i might be parlized from the waist down.

This Weeks Maths Activity

 Kia Ora everybody,

This week we had to learn what equivalent fractions are.

It is quite a simple concept once you under stand.

The rule that I did not know was that you could only change them by multiplication or division.

Tell me what you think.

Last weeks maths activity

 Kia Ora Everybody,

This week we are catching up on some work that I have missed.

The reason we missed it is because Screencastify was updating.

Do you think I explained how to do this activity well.

Please comment if if you understand it or not.

Starving Description

 Kia Ora everybody,

So today we had to write up a description about how you would feel if you were starving in the middle of the ocean. So I wrote this it is fairly short but we only had five minutes. Let me know what you think.

The storm washed away the food and water but it also washed away the uncertainty of starving because I am now certain that we will starve. My stomachs growling like a marching band is marching in my stomach. I feel like a woodpecker is hollowing me out until there is nothing left. It burns like somebody is pouring diesel on an open flame. I feel like a caged bird that has not been fed in a decade. No amount of food will save us now we will starve.

Tell me what you think.

Writing Activity

 Kia Ora Eveybody,

Yesterday in our writing session we had to go and draw our buddies character.

But the catch is that you can only draw what is on the character description page.

On Zara´s list there is

Long eyelashes, Muscle on the arms and calves, Parted hair to the right, hairy caterpillers eyebrows, Mokopanu on face, tattoos on cheeks and forehead, Eyes as blue as the sea, Black short hair, Scar near right eye, 6 foot tall, healthy weight, tan skin, dimple on left cheek, Purple bruise on left shin and righ knee, red lips, weared down dirty finger nails, scratch up right arm, piercing in left ear, wonky nose, long legs and a short torso.

On my list I had

Spiky hair, Blue eyes, muscly legs, Big ears, Dark brown hair, nice tan, really tall, rounded nose, koru tattoos on his back, chuny eyebrows. My list is alot shorter that zara´s list so she had alot more freedom than I had for the drawing. Warning he is naked beause there was no clothes in the description.

America´s Cup Challengers And Defenders

 Kia Ora everybody,

Today I finished my second reading activity.

It took about 2 days and lots of research.

This ¨Google Sheets¨ is all about the challengers and defenders of the America´s cup.

A pattern I have relised is that over the years mainly America had won the cup.

But now that new zealand joined the party there will be only be one clear winner.

Fun Fact: The America´s cup was made in England but England has never won it.

15th March 2021 America's Cup

 Kia Ora everybody,

Today I finished an activity for reading.

What we had to do was go to a site and research the  history of the America's Cup.

Then we were asked to extract information out of the text and find 10 questions to ask the teacher.

You must be able to be find the answer in the text otherwise the question does not qualify.

Here is a picture of what we had to do (the link does not work).

Here is a pictureof my activity and the link works this time.

Split face art

Kia Ora everybody,
2 weeks ago I sketched hlf of my face for the spilt face art.
The left half is my face the right half is a food themed face.
On my face I have a suasage, fried egg, slice of pizza, watermelon and cotton candy.
My hair is candy ropes and in my hair is gummybears, chocolate, a lollipop and a chocolate bar.
It took me 2 or 3 days to draw.
I like the left side the most because more effort went into that side.
Tell me what you think in the comments.

Baking Brownies

 Kia Ora everybody,

Today we made some brownies. But these are not just any brownies these are brownies with a twist, a green twist, a green vegtable twist.

We added Zucchini into our brownie!

This brownie is a great chance to show you that sweet treats can still be healthy and it's a great way to sneak in a few veggies in your diet.

The recipe is dry grainy and a little bit like sand but it all comes together when you add the Zucchini. Make sure not to get the juice out of the grated Zucchini because the moistere is what pulls it all together.

This recipe is from Two Peas & Their Pod the site is well laid out with some details about the brownie and the site. The brownies were a little bit fluffy for a brownie it was more like a flat cake. But overall the recipe was simple and healthy.

Cooking during level 2

We stayed safe while cooking by washing our hands and keeping our tools clean.

Ingrediants

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cups canola or vegtable oil
2 cups plain flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
2 cups grated Zucchini (Don't sqeeze out the moisture)
2 Teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/4 cups choc chips
